English Camp is a yearly agenda of SMPIT Nurul Fikri Bogor that is specially arranged for 8th grade students. It aims at building English speaking environment where students communicate in English confidently.

Collaborating with Jampang English Village, this year English Camp has three main goals which focus on public speaking, social research, and school representatives. Students are encouraged to speak English throughout the program. They are required to speak English with everyone including friends, teachers, dorm teachers, and also their tahfidz teachers.

Students joined this year English camp for 6 days. They had a pre-test at the start of the program. They did some written test and spoken test. They did many skills pratices from listening to speaking. Various activies were held to have students do their best in practicing their English.

Students did a lot of peer activities, they did some presentation in- and outside the class. In the morning the had vocabulary building where they had to memorize a list of words.

A lot of materials were given to the students such as how to do a presentation, how to express opinion, how to describe personality & characters. They learned those materials in interactive meaningful activities.

English without its grammar feels imperfect. During English Camp, students learned and practiced grammar such as tenses, parts of speech, sentences, and many more. Students were expected to understand and able to apply them in using English.

At the end of the program, students took a post-test to evaluate their learning and understanding. For the closing agenda, students went to Bogor Botanical Garden to do their final mission; presenting their group ideas to local visitors and foreigners. They were having fun exploring the area and searching for the people they wanted to share their idea with. Having this agenda together with all their 8th grade mates is some memory they would treasure a lot.
